Newman University is a private, Catholic liberal arts college, located in Wichita, Kansas, that strives to equip their students with the knowledge and skills to make a difference in society. Newman University offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs, with their Master of Business Administration program being highly acclaimed. The University accommodates around 2500 students.

The ongoing support we receive from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise before and after sale is very important to us. Since the recent infrastructure upgrade, our staff and students complain more about parking spaces than the Wi-Fi. That’s a very good sign, in our book!

Newman University struggled with implementing the technological learning expectations of the students and staff caused by a juggle between operational costs and technological investments.

Action

Newman University has been using Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise products since the late 1990s. Along with business partner, Dice Communications, Newman continues to find ALE as a solid performer with a strong value. Newman has been satisfied with the additional support from Dice and ALE sales engineers providing support through the years. The two companies are a large reason Newman continued to partner with ALE for their network needs. Now in 2021, as Newman University grows adding a doctoral program and additional users, the University is more up to date than ever in their switch technology, communication ease, and network management. Implementation of cloud-based solutions Rainbow™ collaboration tool and OmniVista® Cirrus network management enabled a high amount of product satisfaction between Newman University and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise. Additionally, the ALE standards-based, easy-to-use interface enables Newman to segment the network for greater security and control.
